Compress image to any size in KB
Choose a target size, drop your photos, and get smaller files in seconds. Your pictures stay on your device.
Private by design: your files are processed on your device and are never sent to our servers.
Forms, portals and e-mail often reject big pictures. Type the size you need in KB, such as 20, 50, 100 or 200, and this tool shrinks your photo to fit.
It follows the same approach as Compress to KB in the ScanOrbit app: smart resizing and careful encoding, so the picture stays as clear as it can at that size.
How to use
- Choose one or more photos, or drop them on the box.
- Type the size you need, for example 100 for 100 KB.
- Press Compress to KB, then Download each file.
Tips
- For a signature or thumb print, a small size such as 20 KB is usually enough.
- Compress only once. Compressing an already compressed picture again loses more detail.
- Need the pixel size changed as well? Use the Exam & job form photo tool.
Questions
How do I compress an image to a certain size in KB?
Type the size in KB, add your photo and press Compress to KB. The tool lowers quality and size until the file fits.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Processing happens in your browser, so the picture never leaves your phone or computer.
Why is the result a JPG?
JPG gives the smallest files for photos, so every result is saved as JPG. Transparent areas turn white.
Can it make a file very small, like 20 KB?
For most photos, yes. Big or detailed pictures may also become smaller in pixel size to reach very small targets.
